The Ansonia and Verdi Square

72nd-74th and Broadway

Since we're coming from Riverside Park and 79th, I'll include some buildings on our way.

The Apthorp building

The Apthorp, a landmark building that covers a square block, is between 78-79th and Broadway-West End Avenue. Conan O'Brien, Rosie O'Donnell and Al Pacino have lived here. Like many large buildings, it has an inner courtyard and even a driveway. (I was an occasional guest in the Apthorp, since I recorded a pianist who lived here.) If you continue east on 79th, you'll come to the Museum of Natural History; go west on 79th and you'll be at the marina and Boat Basin Cafe.
