We're headed up E. Broadway to the corner of Chambers,
but you can see Park Row buildings across City Hall Park. |

as we head for Chambers Street |

We've reached Chambers and E. Broadway. This is the
Old Tweed Courthouse, with the Municipal Building leaning in the background.
I'll have to do something about that! |

The Old Tweed Courthouse now houses the Department
of Education. Boss Tweed was a notorious figure in New York politics. |

I loved the walking man, a sculpture that moved as
parts of it lit up, but the Municipal Arts Society took it down; works
of art are rotated and/or replaced on a regular basis. |

A closeup of the building in the last photo. This
is one of my favorite buildings. We are in the judicial district; thus
the name "chambers" for the street. |

And further down

Farther back

Here it is again at the far left. We are now on Park
Row/Centre Street. The Municipal building is behind the sculpture placed
here recently, most likely on rotation. To see the Courthouses, walk past
the front of the Municipal Building. |

This is the back of the building on Chambers Street that you saw so many
times. |
