Civic Center tour, Manhattan
Manhattan's City Hall, located in a gorgeous park with a fountain surrounded by four lanterns, is across the street from Pace University. Bounded by Park Row to the east and East Broadway to the west, it's just below Chambers Street. Many subways stop here. |

The Municipal Building is the taller edifice. The little dome is part of City Hall.

The fountain is even more beautiful at night, when the lanterns are more noticeable.

During the colder months, both City Hall and the Municipal Building are visible.

A statue of Nathan Hale faces City Hall. It can be seen in the next photo.

View from Park Row. Let's head over to Chambers Street, just up the block.

If you exit City Hall Park at E. Broadway and walk towards Chambers, you can look back at the Woodworth building, one of the earliest and most beautiful skyscrapers. I saw its magnificent lobby some years back, but since 9/11 members of the public have not been allowed in the lobby without a pass. |
