| This is the other side of the Loch's tunnel. We have now entered the North Woods. Since the North Woods area is remote, you may want to take the Park's drive to the Harlem Meer, bypassing the North Woods. In that case, take the roadway above the tunnel. The Loch should be on your left when you head towards the Meer. |

If you choose the roadway to the Harlem Meer, you'll
be descending a big curvy hill and coming down this road, which runs parallel
to 110th Street and is often quite near it. |

Facing the other way, the Meer (lake) soon comes into view.

Another possibility is going to 110th Street, the Park's northern boundary, and crossing there. This is Central Park's entrance at 110th and Central Park West. |

You'll see remnants of an old wall here. The North
Woods had a series of fortifications during the American Revolution and
the War of 1812. Part of the old blockhouse (not shown here) remains. |

However, we DO want to visit the North Woods. I like
to go when there are not many leaves so I can see farther. |

See the squirrel?

I hope this cat has a home. It looks well cared-for.
