Tavern on the Green

On the West Side, just above 65th street, you'll find Tavern on the Green, a special-occasion kind of place. I attended a wedding dinner here. This view was taken from the back, where the outdoor tables are. Tavern on the Green once housed sheep and a shepherd.

Sometimes the grounds are fenced in to give the grass a chance to grow.

Maine Monument

The Maine Monument commemorates those who lost their lives during the sinking of the ship in Cuba in 1898. Many decades later we learned that the explosion was an accident, not sabotage.
